The Church You Didn’t Think Existed..
So many of us found our way here after being told we were too much— too queer, too doubting, too loud, too bruised, too honest.
At Emmanuel Baptist Fellowship, those aren’t disqualifiers. They’re starting points. They’re signs of life and longing and courage. And they belong.
We are an intentionally welcoming Baptist church, where healing is possible, where theological depth is valued, and where your presence—not your polish—is what matters.
We don’t pretend to have all the answers.
In fact, we believe the church should be the safest place to ask hard questions, wrestle with doubt, and explore faith with honesty and curiosity.
Our services are casual, our discussions are real, and our coffee comes with an option of oat milk. You might be offered a baked good from someone who thought of you when they made it—or greeted with a tail wag and a nuzzle from one of the canine regulars.
Some of us have been away from church for years. Some of us never thought we’d return. Some of us are encountering church for the first time. And some of us have been in church our whole lives—grateful for what we’ve known, and drawn to a deeper understanding of God’s love.
We show up with different stories & shifting identities— a little bit of each, none of the above, or something else entirely.
We show up because we’ve found something we didn’t think existed: a church that celebrates all of who we are.
We don’t limit ourselves to a building. Wherever we gather, we create sanctuary — a space where love shows up in conversation, in casserole dishes, in community care, and in the shared commitment to justice that moves beyond Sunday mornings.
It may not be the kind of church you expected to find. But it is the kind of church many of us need. No pressure. Just presence. We’re here when you’re ready to be.
